I have spent a decade inside the home: design, computer vision, real estate, retail, and now AI. I taught myself software and wrote 180,000 lines of code for an automated design engine years before it was fashionable. Today the products my cofounder Shital and I build are used by 2.3 million people across 105 countries, and we have never spent a dollar on marketing.

I believe homes shape us before we shape them, and that the people who need design the most are the ones least able to buy it. Everything I write here is in service of one idea: giving ordinary families agency over the space that is already acting on them.

I don’t divide the work. I research, build, sell, design, and write as one job, because there is only one knowledge. This series is where it gets written down.

Why long-form

This isn’t a thought leadership series. It’s a set of signals from the edges, where real estate, AI, and retail are starting to blur. It will be long-form. On purpose.

We’ve made mistakes.

We’ve been early.

We’ve been right, but too soon.

And lately, we’ve started getting it right at the right time.
